My Christmas Wishlist for my fave Boholanos

By Leo Udtohan

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is
slowly but surely seething its way in. And if you, like your VRS, are a little delayed in making your gifting wish list, there is always plenty of inspiration to be had.

Every year, Christmas brings me immeasurable amounts of joy. Not just because of the belen, parol, immaculate music, and spirit, however. My favorite part of Christmas is my annual (recycled?) own list of gifts for my favorite Boholanos:

-For Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado
 — Clearer vision and relentless commitment to uplift the lives of the Boholanos.

-Rep. Vanessa Cadorna- Aumentado— More noble initiatives and mega-projects for the promotion and improvement of the second district of Bohol.

-For Rep. Alexie Tutor and Candijay Vice Mayor Christopher Tutor — Mega, mega projects for the development of the third district of Bohol.

-For Rep. Edgar Chatto —That his eloquence and wisdom be translated to more developments for Bohol’s First Congressional District.

-For Board Member Jamie Aumentado Villamor — The wisdom to craft policies that will protect nature while promoting ecotourism in Bohol. And another "joint venture". They badly need one to make them a happy Family of 4.

-For Board Member Nathaniel Binlod — Unwavering commitment for the welfare of the Boholanos.

- For Carmen Mayor Conchita "Che" Toribio Delos-Reyes —Tireless zeal to promote her beloved Carmen to the world thru sustainable tourism. And thru Beauche, she will beautify the world.

-For Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap and
Baba Yap — Continuation and completion of the projects started that would benefit ths populace. For her personal life, considering she has many events to grace and people from walks of life to meet and interact with, I can only wish for good health, nothing more.

-For Benjie Oliva —Vibrant and more innovative leadership to help the less fortunate sectors and development of Bohol. Continued partnership to liaise with national officials to bring in high-impact projects in the province.

-For Mayor Joseph Rañola —The tenacity to push for more well-meaning projects for the Jagna-anons.

- For Atty. Jordan Pizarras —The passion to help address the needs of those who have less in life.

- For Jade Acapulco Bautista and Dauis Vice Mayor Miriam Sumaylo —Renewed dynamism. Their achievements as public servants are so remarkable and truly inspirational. Same for former Tagbilaran Vice Mayor Toto Veloso, Booy captain Jun Telmo and councilors Reynante Cericos and Boboy Doroy.

-For Tagbilaran Councilor Atoy Torralba— Strength and courage to make sure that he is ready to face each challenge that he encounters especially in his political journey.

-For Fiscal Ingemar Macarine — The “Pinoy Aquaman” will conquer the treacherous English Channel in July 2026.

-For Mila Lim — More Santa Claus and other Christmas stuff for her “Most Christmassy House” in Bohol.

-For Regalada "Daday" Binong—Good health that she will continue sharing the best sikwate (native hot chocolate), making her Bohol’s undisputed "Queen of Sikwate."

All’s well that ends well for Mayor Che and CongW Alexie Tutor

By Leo Udtohan

There was no more need to dig up old grudges, no recriminations. They embraced in tearful silence and let bygones be bygones, only looking ahead and not backward.

That about sums up the reconciliation between Board Member Nathaniel Binlod and 3rd district Rep. Alexie Besas-Tutor and Carmen Mayor Che Toribio-Delos Reyes, when they met during the 154th Foundation Day of Carmen town Wednesday, March 1.

The "rift" started during the campaign (which seems to have taken a turn for the worse). It was supposed to be "part of the game." Of course, it hurts, especially if most of them are lies, half-truths.

"Everything has been said...has been done. It’s all out in the open. I have spoken. Let the time tell the sincerity of our commitment," said Tutor. "Let us be together."

She said "loyalty" should not be for a person but for the people.

Tutor said she had no abhor feelings against Binlod. In fact, she praised him for his hardwork.

Tutor said that no barangay or town will be left behind. In Carmen, she allocated funds worth P93.5 million for this year for its barangays because her service is impartial.

Delos Reyes said that her alliance with the administration of Aumentado and Tutor, she hopes for the better development of her town.

"I will work very hard, I will try my very best together with the LGU family that we can give our best to the people. Para nako, with Board Member Nathan ang kaayuhan ug ikaayo sa katawhan sa lungsod sa Carmen ug lalawigan sa Bohol maoy among gitan-aw. Serbisyo lang mao maghiusa mi, nagkahiusa mi, makig-usa mi.. and that's very very clear, " said Mayor Che.

The reconcialition was witnessed by third district mayors Dodo Jumawid (Batuan), Norman Palacio (Bilar), Raymond Jala (Loboc), Juliet Dano (Sevilla), Michael Doria (Sierra Bullones), Wilson Pajo (Pilar), Arturo Jed Piollo (Lila), Randolph Ang (Dimiao), Dionisio Neil Balite (Valencia), Jess Baja (Garcia Hernandez),  Al Cadorniga Taculad (Duero), Ben Balo (Guindulman) and Lahar  Ayuban (Loay).

After that, the three and the local chief executives ended enjoying a hearty lunch at Chocolate Hills Complex.

They agreed to forget the past and to move on.
